We engaged Broadway Relocation Services to move our furniture to London and all the furniture arrived in time and no damages. Brilliant!!

We were in the process of relocating from Hyderabad to Brisbane, Australia and took up the services of Broadway Relocation Services in India for shipping our things from India. Everything went off well until the time our shipment was picked up in Hyderabad, India. The packing team was efficient and friendly. Our troubles started after the shipment was picked up. Initially, they had given a quote for Rs. 1,39,000 appr. for 6 cubic mtrs, which was as it is high compared to the price quoted by the other companies, After our shipments were picked up, we get a shocking email from them asking us to pay 1,95,000 in Indian rupees, which includes 25,000 advance. Though the actual shipment went upto 7 cubic mtrs, there was tax and GST charges which was not included in their initial quotation, this came as a shock to us. However, we did not waste time in arguing or negotiation, we paid up the whole amount in advance, they gave a slight concession of Rs.5000 and picked up a narrow box in addition as complimentary service after a week’s time.
They had also promised to deliver the shipment door-to-door at Brisbane within 40 days time from the date of pick up or maximum 2 months.

Now, it is more than 3 months, our shipments are not delivered, what is coming to us as a major heart attack is that the agent in Australia (Starmoving company) is now asking us to pay 1700 Australian dollars (in additioin to Rs.190,000 that we paid in india) to release the shipment. We are struggling calling the cargo companies in India and Australia (Broadway in India and Starmoving in Australia), nobody is trying to help us in any manner.

They are giving fancy names justifying additional 1700 Australian dollars payment for which there are no receipts or bills shown till now. So, for goods worth of Rs. 5,00,000 in Indian rupees, this so called shipping company is demanding 6,000 Australian dollars for their shipping services. We are feeling stuck, we want to proceed legally against the dealing of this company, Nothing was explained clearly by them when the shipment was being picked up, now they are coming up with new terminology like quarantine, DHTC, examination charges, blabla….. to justify the hidden cost, for a layman it is very difficult to even expect that such charges will come up during the process. Fundamentally there is no customer service, it is just money extraction scheme with some service terms which the customer never anticipates.

End of 3 months, our shipment is stuck in Brisbane, we are not having 1700 Australian dollars to pay up to take the shipment. Taking a decision to ship our goods through Broadway Relocation Services in India and their counterpart Starmoving services in Australia is a biggest nightmare we are having!! We have no idea how we are going to get to the bottom of this issue, we are in the process of approaching ACCC in Australia and Consumer Forum in India, in addition to contacting our lawyer in Chennai to proceed legally.
If anyone has got inputs to help us deal with this situation, pls provide inputs to us. We are feeling like utter fools!!

They operate in silos between departments and have no customer service in mind. The quote given by sales is not honoured by ops team and they seek more. Only motive seems to be how to extract more money in every step.

Very bad experience. Initial quote for our items was Rs 1.8 lakhs including all chargers but they failed to arrange the assessment. Once they took the items from home in chennai demanded to increase to Rs 2.5 lakhs- reason the items were more although we haven’t changed anything from the initial quote. Delay of 6 weeks from the time they quoted initially- reason due to election in India. Once my goods reached UK port, I had to pay another £500 for clearance which they haven’t informed us before. I finally ended up paying almost twice the initial quoted price.They were rude to respond when I asked them knowing that I was helpless as the goods were with them. I feel cheated and looks like they are using this cheap business technique. This is the company based at New Delhi. Please be aware!

I got all the goods in good condition and intact and it was really professional in packing and the materials used for it. I must say I was bit nervous when I was booking this consignment , both because I never used any international shipment and second I have not known the company name. But it was in fact , most part of the transaction was pleasant and good experience. I appreciate you and your team’s efforts in this regards and thank you n particular for taking up my queries over phone and messages. I would definitely recommend to my friends in any such need in future.

Simply Terrible.
Poor planning, poorly organised, missing packing materials, late with packing.
had understood they would store our goods in the storage facility and it was mentioned in the Agreement, but Broadway claimed additional Money for the same after we had left the Country (leaving us with no Options), charged us Addition Money as they claimed quantity of goods exceeded what they expected (one Container) – which we also had to pay or they kept our goods !!!
It turned out the goods didn’t exceed the capacity of one Container, but no refund !
By off-loading, the local Company, Alfa also explained they needed additional payment as they were not able to drive all the way to the main door – took A LOT discussions and at the end there was no Problem with driving to the main entrance door !
Alfa also claimed extra as they were not able to lift the Container to the ground and so on.
Due to Broadway delay, we received our goods with one month delay !
DON’T EVER CONSIDER BROADWAY
