I’d recommend them for simpl moves only. All our stuff was already packed from a previous move, so it was simple loading of the truck, driving across, and unloading. The driver is with the company, the loaders are local guys they hire for the day, so the quality of the loaders is really luck of the draw. The guys that did the loading in Nice were excellent, done it before, worked hard and with care. The guys in Stuttgart that did the unloading were two students who complained a lot, and didn’t seem to have a lot of experience. They got the job done eventually but the difference was telling.
One thing I read about The Moving Company after I already booked them is that they are not part of the movers guild, so you do not have the legal protection that comes with using a moving company that is a member. Wasn’t a problem for us, but if you have a complicated move, with precious items or potential for damage to floors etc. you may want to think twice.

Excellent service in Auckland – quick response and very helpful with the overall move. Delivery timing and process equally fantastic. Only let down was picking up and lack of packing of items. Things were thrown into boxes haphazardly resulting in damage to our belongings and waste of packaging paper and boxes.

The Moving company sent my furniture to Palmerston North from Wellington, they then contracted NZ Van Lines to deliver to my address from their depot, while moving it into the house one of the two delivery person who looked to be close to 70 yrs old dented the front of a brand new fridge while walking it into the kitchen because he wouldn’t wait for his co-worker to come back from their van.
The follow up service (or lack of) from the branch manager was just as poor, NEVER use The Moving company or NZ Van lines

The Moving Company NZ:
Our experience with The Moving Company NZ started out friendly and professional until the payment was received for the goods and it turned out very disappointing from there onwards, such as little to no communication to "not being able to help" on urgent matters as the lady I talked to was agar to get home when I called at 5pm.
We’ve had some damaged items and contacted the company regarding these and have not heard back. I have made a couple of attempts to contact TMC and NZ Vanlines (TMC’s moving partner) before this review however I have not yet had a reply back with a reasonable solution. We purchased insurance however no one seems to be getting back to us. Very poor communication and an overall disappointing experience.

I cannot fault The Moving Company. My furniture has not arrived at my house in Australia yet but the company was so quick to get a quote to me, send documents, organise a date, pack etc. The furniture was packed very well. Their quote was very competitive. I’m sure I’ll be very happy when I receive my furniture in Australia.
