Knowledgeable, friendly five-star service

I was initially a bit hesitant about shipping my boxes from Melbourne to Malta, but after one phone call with World Baggage I was feeling more than confident about it. Incredibly knowledgeable about the shipping processes and put me right at ease. I was actually quite blown away at how well they knew the Maltese system, with it being such a small country.
They were always available to answer my questions and concerns (and there were many) and they gave me plenty of tips to ensure my personal effects were cleared smoothly through customs. Everything just worked our so easily, and my five boxes of personal effects arrived at my door, safe and sound.
I'd definitely recommend World Baggage - aside from their competitive pricing (they offered the best deal I could find), their service is impeccable. Thanks again guys!

World Baggage Sydney - Poor service

I paid for 4 boxes to be moved via airfreight from Sydney to South Africa, confirmed via telephone on 25 Nov 2020 that my boxes will be collected on 26 Nov 2020 and that it will take take 5 to 7 days to destination. I proceeded to make this booking online. Boxes was collected as booked on 26 Nov 2020.

No documents with regards to the flight number was received till I asked for it in the following week which was already 4 or 5 days later since pick up, Estimated time of arrival was then given as 11 December 2020. I contacted them as this exceeds the 7 days that I was promised. No accountability was taken for it but they blamed it on Covid. This was not communicated to me in advance and contradicted what I was told on the 25th when I called and was told it still only takes 5-7 days.

I wanted to start tracking my baggage as this can be done as per their website. When I received the waybill this was impossible to do. I contacted the manager again and asked to confirm the number to trace my baggage and was told I will only be able to do so from the 5th of December, this probable means my baggage was not planned to be send till then which exceeds the 7 days. I emailed 7th and was told that I will only be able to track from the 9th Dec and not the 5th anymore. Which indicates to me the manager who I dealt with via email was not able to give me clear information about the route or the schedule of my baggage and the planning / booking was not correctly done.
Today is the 10th of Dec (14 days since pick) and my baggage is not on route to South Africa yet, received a email extract "due to it being removed as result of load restrictions". This indicates bad planning and booking issues as I would expect if a booking was made with the airline and approved as I was send a waybill the arrangement have to be met, however this was not the case again.

I didn't receive the service that I paid for and will definitely be in contact with NSW fair trading and will never use or recommend worldbaggage again.

They lost my baggage and then stopped communicating with me.

The arrival of my goods was much delayed based on what they promised, and turns out I could have paid for the slow boat trip instead of the plane, because I waited for months anyway. They also lost one piece of my baggage BEFORE IT EVEN GOT ON THE PLANE - so while moving it from my city to the closest airport. When I started inquiring about it, they said "we're looking into it" but that was weeks and many emails ago and I haven't heard from them since. They also damaged another piece I sent. I had everything insured through them, but no clue how to claim on it since they're ignoring me.

Simply avoid

On the website it says 5-7 days which is why I chose this company. However as I learned from clause 3.11 this is indicative only- my luggage came after double that time which put me under enormous stress and pressure. I hired a car to pick up my excess baggage- for the first week I arrived- however when I asked the company to courier it to me - because of the delay on their part and no longer having a car they pointed to 3.11. The email stated 'if for any reason the consignment is not uplifted by the carrier on any of those connecting flights, yes your consignment will be delayed.' My argument was that my luggage was not even loaded until 5 days after I dropped it off - a point that the handler simply avoided.

World Baggage

World Baggage Australia:

World Baggage Australia were terrible. They are dishonest and deceitful. They were unclear about countries that our baggage would go through and that we would be charged in those countries, not just our final destination.
We ended up paying an extra US$950 for only 126kg, on top of the original charges! This was a lot more than the estimated US$300 at final destination.
They also didn't give us a tracking number until we asked. And then never got back to our emails about the extra costs.
Very disappointing.
I would never use them again.
